Paul Wall原名Paul Slayton，1981年3月11日出生。是一个来自休斯顿的白人小伙子。在经过一番努力之后，终于在2006年9月27日推出了自己在大厂牌下的第一张个人专辑《The Peoples Champ》。而之前，Paul Wall还曾分别在2002年，2004年和2005年个人独立发行过专辑《Get Ya Mind Correct》，《The Chick Magnet》和《Controversy Sells》。 对于Paul Wall来说，他很幸运，在Atlantic公司发行的首张专辑《The Peoples Champ》，发行首周，不仅以17万6千张这个不算太高的销量，首次进入主流排行榜，并且拿到Billboard 200专辑榜冠军，而且让说唱大牌Kanye West体会失败的滋味。
