《哈利波特》系列电影大完结篇，日前英文版小说已经上市，根据小说内容，在与佛地魔的大战中，将有五十个以上的正反派角色死亡…… 故事一开始，黑魔王佛地魔踌躇满志，召集爪牙食死人在鲁休思．马份家中开会，筹画如何彻底解决哈利波特以绝后患。佛地魔当场处决被他俘虏的霍格华兹学院麻瓜学教授查瑞蒂．柏碧姬，餵食他的巨蛇娜吉妮，为他大举入侵魔法部与霍格华兹学院揭开序幕。 哈利与挚友荣恩、妙丽等人在凤凰会的协助下，一次又一次逃过佛地魔与食死人的追杀，同时全力搜寻佛地魔尚未被摧毁的分灵体，正邪两派巫师展开殊死斗。 在四处搜寻佛地魔分灵体的同时，哈利有了重大发现，原来要歼灭佛地魔必须取得三件「死神圣物」（Deathly Hallows）：长老魔杖、复活圣石与隐形斗篷。哈利原本就拥有隐形斗篷与复活圣石，但长老魔杖在邓不利多死后被佛地魔夺走，这根魔杖能够让巫师主人在对决时战无不胜。 最后对决从活米村的尖叫屋展开，哈利得知自身就是佛地魔最后一个分灵体，於是他壮烈牺牲自己，用计让佛地魔杀死他，之后又死而复生，与佛地魔决一死战，让佛地魔发出索命咒之后作法自毙，恶贯满盈的一生画下句点。
