Yes or No
Listening to Kev sing, there is no doubt that he has been given a gift. Inspired by such greats as Sam Cooke, Charlie Wilson, young Michael Jackson, and recently Mario, Kev delivers new school flavor with a timeless punch. Music has been way of life for Kev since before he can remember. His mom, sang to him while pregnant, and his father Wirlie Morris, a record producer, had an in home studio the first four years of Kev’s life that consistently surrounded him with music. Excelling in football and track, Kev showed no sign of possessing musical ability. At the age of seven, Kev surprisingly wanted to enter a talent contest. His dad insisted on hearing him sing first. When Kev sang, his father knew that he had a unique ability. Now Kev has began work on his first project under the creative expertise of his father. With artist under his belt such as, Ashanti , Lloyd ( Southside , Valentine,) B-5, Destiny’s Child, B2K, Tyler Perry’s Daddy’s Little Girls soundtrack (Struggle No More and Step Aside,) Wirlie has the creative versatility to give Kev a sound that is timeless. Wirlie reached out to Atlanta artist developer, Joyce Irby, who started and guided the musical careers of Dallas Austin, Sammie, and Lloyd. The two, along with Kev's manager, who also happens to be his mom, Renee', feel confident that Kev has a very long and successful career ahead. "Kev Morris will be the youngest person to have a number one record on the charts,...thats my goal", says Irby. Humble, well spoken, and handsome, Kev has a magnetic appeal. He is a quiet wonder, who seems to transform on stage into a confident seasoned performer. Dance and acrobatic ability, along with his natural inclination for harmonies makes his stage performance visibly and audibly thrilling. “ I want my music to make people feel good, the way the old music I listen to does.” The first single “Yes or No” is a young and upbeat musically, yet is ageless in it’s lyrical appeal. A sure dance hit with a memorable hook that takes you back. “Best Girl in the World”, is one of Kev's favorite album cuts. It is a mid tempo ballad that reflects some of the Sam Cook influence in Kev’s life, and allows Kev the opportunity to stretch out vocally. Currently Kev is finishing his album at Take Note Studios. Listen, and it will take you about fifteen seconds to realize that what you hear is only the beginning of Kev’s climb to the top in the music industry.
