Butcher Boy
This was originally an Irish folk song but it was recorded in Nashville with the legendary musicians Pig Robbins (one of Elvis's piano players), Kenny Buttrey (Niel Young's drummer), Tommy Allsup (played guitar in Buddy Holly's band), Buddy Spicher - Crystal Gayle's fiddle player, Stu Basore - one of the most respected pedal steel players in Nashville, and the engineer and studio owner was Wayne Moss - he played that famous guitar riff on Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" as well as playing on Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen's Nashville recordings. The song tells the tragic tale of a woman who was in love with a butcher boy. For more information go to www.butcherboy.com
