I Want to See the Light (Lost from Our Eyes)
I WANT TO SEE THE LIGHT (LOST FROM OUR EYES) was written about the growing divide and racism in my hometown Malmoe, Sweden. It was inspired by one specific event where one extremist man put the city of Malmoe in terror for a month by shooting dark-haired people at night. During this time, the streets in the city were almost deserted at night. Many people didn't feel safe to go outside from fear of being shot for the colour of their hair or skin. I WANT TO SEE THE LIGHT (LOST FROM OUR EYES) is a song about finding our spark again. Finding our passion and spirituality again in a world that is alienating and full of growing violence. It is a song about my personal experience as a woman walking down a quiet street at night, 'flaneuring' like artists have done for centuries. It's a song about racism. It's a love song. Feel free to dance.
