Inspirational music has been a part of Song Bird’s life for many years. Born and raised in Houston, Texas by her single mother, Song Bird was taught to always put God first in her life. Although trials have come her way, she still continues to put everything in God’s hands, and in doing so has been able to overcome any obstacle that comes her way. Song Bird’s mother realized that she had a talent for music beginning at the early age of seven. Through out her adolescent years, her talent provided her the opportunity to be a part of many different choirs. She became a faithful member of The New Hope Family Worship Center choir, where she sang soprano, and later went on to join the community choir, Deliverance in Praise, under the direction of Minister Roy Malone of Houston, Texas. In 2003, Song Bird began working with a local Houston producer by the name of B. Palmer, where she learned more about the music industry and was able to explore her creative musical talent. Song Bird is inspired by a large repertoire of artists’, ranging from The Clark Sisters to Kirk Franklin to India Arie. In 2005, she had the opportunity to be a part of Kurt Carr One Church Gospel. She has also had the pleasure of working with many different musicians. Currently, Song Bird is the Minister of Music at Power For Living Christian Center Church in Houston, Texas, under the direction of Pastor Kevin Buford and Co-Pastor Lynn Buford. She is also a staff member of the talk show entitled “Precious Princess of Purity Inspirational Show” in which she wrote and performed the theme song. Song Bird continues to remain focused on spreading God’s word through her music, and also inspiring the youth of today by encouraging them to continue to seek God and carry out his will.
