Who is SHU? A strikingly, lovely lady, teacher, writer and singer. Her lyrics are honest and currently divinely inspired; while her communication style is simple and straight-to-the-point. She is able to reach the young and old, as well as, the rich and poor. SHU loves people and relates to them where they are... As a child in Florida, SHU used music as a means to express herself, as she was quite shy whenever she was not around close family and friends. In Ohio, after creating a local buzz as a member of a few local teenage groups, SHU was selected and mentored by Jerry Bell for the nationally syndicated show, Star Search. Her family moved to Maryland for business, and SHU quickly shined in the local arts community and was chosen to lead a gospel choir perfomance for then Vice President George Bush at the U.S. Naval Academy in Washington, D.C. Members of the band, Con Funk Shun, also mentored SHU into becoming a writer, as well as singer. While studying Journalism in college, she teamed up with legendary reggae artist Errol Moore to write and co-produce her first solo demo. In 2000, SHU began to publicize her writing skills through her published poetry titled, "Simplicity, " under the pen name, P. Alexander. She later completed another project, "Life is what you make it," with up and coming producer, The Mighty Donshay. Singles such as, "Taking Control" and "Through the Years" which showcase her extremely rare ability to write almost any genre of music. In 2002,The VP of Diversity at Cingular Wireless summoned her to write and perform the 2002 Diversity Campaign song, "You and Me." From 2003 through 2005, SHU completed her 2nd full length cd entitled, "Old Life New Life" and also a maxi-single,"God is Good," with "hitmakers" PaRock Productions. She also created the 1st annual "Back to School Jam" which was co-sponsored by Pastor L.J. Character of Saints of Christ Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The annual concert was created to promote Christian behavior alternatives, the Arts and to supply school goods for students in the urban West Atlanta area. SHU completed her 3rd cd in 2006 entitled, "Naggin Me" with Around the World records and composed and recorded the theme song for the Atlanta area technology show, "The Digital Divide." Currently SHU is working on 2 new projects! Her 1st book titled, "Yeshua Euphony", and "Hey Young World," a children's book.
