Mystery
Don Britt and Art Andrade have joined their musical talent again! This time around the duo - Andrade and Britt - are creating Christian songs. Their mission is to share God’s mercy and salvation and Jesus’ love and hope, through their music. Don and Art first met in middle school and their friendship flourished. They became close friends through high school, even playing on the varsity football team together, including a State Championship. They also formed a rock band in which they wrote original love songs and some surreal rock, like Conglomeration 1 & 2. Eventually, when they entered into college, their paths took them into different directions. Don continued with music and received a full-ride vocal scholarship in vocal performance under the tutelage of the esteemed Dr. Wachsman at Pima Community College. Don also played rhythm guitar and was the lead singer for the James Brockton Band, one of the top country bands in the Southwest. Don also performed at the Dallas Metroplex (Grapevine, TX) to great and raving reviews. Meanwhile Art played and sang with some local rock bands, including Dawn, which performed at various venues around town. Art also began writing and recording original music, releasing a solo secular album called Vision Man and the Christian singles: You Are the One, Give Me The Power and Lake Of Fire. After many years, divine providence brought Don and Art back together again. They both attended a mutual friends celebration of life service and literally bumped into each other. “It was just like old times, as though we had never been apart. We laughed a lot!”, says Art with a big smile. They also talked about the big change that had happened in their lives. Don and Art said, “We had both had given our lives to Jesus our Lord and Savior and had experienced God’s love.” A week later Don called Art and said, “Do you want to team up and start writing and recording music? I have this song called ‘Mystery’ that I wrote.” So Don came over to Art’s house and sang and played his song on the guitar. “I was blown away! I told Don that it was good enough to win a Dove Award” says Art. As to Don’s question about creating a musical duo, Art said, “Definitely yes!” Guitarist and sound production engineer Darren Boswell has been performing on guitar and electric bass for over 30 years. He also has degrees in electronics and audio engineering and, later in life, added keyboard to his list of professionally played instruments. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Darren has performed with Chuck Berry, the Temptations, the Drifters, and the Platters, and opened for Ronnie Laws, Foreigner, Night Ranger, Quiet Riot, and many more. Darren resides with his wife, Justine, in Tucson, AZ, where he also regularly performs, produces, records, and teaches private guitar and bass lessons. Don and Art also received help with vocal back-up from the following talent: Justine Boswell - vocalist - originally from St. Paul, MN. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Master’s of Music in Voice Performance. She has performed professionally in Minnesota, where she received her Bachelor’s of Music, Arizona, and North Dakota, both original and cover works. She has also been involved in professional recording since 2000 and directed both children and adult choirs for over a decade. Justine currently lives in Tucson, AZ with her husband, Darren, where she performs and records regularly, also teaching private voice and piano lessons on the side. Also helping out with the back up vocals are Jayda Meola, Chris Meyer and Isaiah Knight. They are seniors at Desert Christian high school and members of the school’s choir. They have performed with the choir and came into the Seven Stars Recording studio to sing back-up on the praise pop/rock song, Jesus I Love You. To help with the media aspect of the music, Brandon Hosley was hired to create the music videos for the songs. Brandon is the producer/CEO of Brannu Studios. Brandon has a degree in Digital Video Production. “He did an outstanding job for us, on our song Mystery!” say Don and Art. Mystery was recorded at Seven Stars Studios and Joy Studios. Don’s skillful acoustic guitar playing lays the foundation for this melodic and powerful song of God’s love, grace and forgiveness as shown through His son’s sacrifice on the cross. Don’s beautiful voice, with the powerful lyrics, strong back-up vocals and masterfully produced music, gives the the listener encouragement and hope. In the music video, the impact of this song is even greater with the beautiful scenes of nature and the cross. Andrade and Britt will in the near future be releasing two more songs from their album. “Jesus I Love You”, is a praise song written by Art that is in the genre of pop and rock. Then the duo will release “How Many Times” a song with the message of God’s patience towards us.
