If I Don't Remember
I wrote this song in case there's ever a time where I no longer have words to say. Life is short and precious and anything could happen in the blink of an eye. I thought about how I could get struck with a disease at any time and personally the disease that I fear the most is Alzheimer's. Imagine a world where your memories fade, and you even start to forget things and people once most dear to you. The worst part is that as the disease develops, it affects you less but your loved ones more. If it were to happen to me, what would be the words that I say to my wife to reassure her that I'll always love her. The unfortunate truth is that I have no way of proving that to her. However, what I can tell her is that I've always adored her beauty and even if I forget who she is, that'll always remain constant. For once, something so shallow bears so much depth. Something so superficial becomes more precious than anything at all. That is why this is my favorite song. I hope that as my future wife hears this song, she'll find true comfort and assurance in my promise.
