Small Steps - the latest project! This is the release of 'small steps - Part One' and its the first of a series of three. Recorded at Soundport Studios, I was privileged to work with Ro Tombs (producer) and Adrian Hong (engineer) - they have both done an incredible thing! You also have to check out the artwork for this one - it's a painting by a friend of mine called Matthew Weatherstone and it's just beautiful. He's going to be painting two more pieces for Part Two and Three so that we end up with a collection of works to accompany my songs (and for you to collect)! I think it's quite exciting! There is a story behind the title ‘small steps’ and the accompanying art work. I won’t go on about it too much but basically the pattern of simply taking one small step at a time has really rung true for me over these past two years. So many times there have been moments where I’ve felt so confronted and overwhelmed by the unknown that lays before me, and I’ve learnt that taking a deep breath and your first small step is the best way to get started. Before you know it, you look back and go, ‘whoa, how did I travel that far?!’ The paintings are going to unfold as Part Two and Three are released in the future. But basically the little girl you see is peering into what lays ahead, and she knows she’s going to end up in that picture some day - she just hasn’t taken those first steps yet. It’s scary, but she’ll get there. I know she will... *Lissa smiles*
