Like all Karan Johar movies, the music follows a particular pattern. You have the sappy love songs, big wedding/celebration number, club number, etc. KANK is not much different but still enjoyable. The cd kicks off with the title track "Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna" (Sonu Nigam & Alka Yagnik). The song itself doesn't stand out on the cd but it's okay. The second track "Mitwa" (Shafqat Amanat Ali) is definitely a favorite. The song has such feeling to it and the credit goes to the singer! Third track "Where's The Party Tonight" (Shaan, Vasundhara Das) says it all...typical club track. Fourth track "Tumhi Dekho Naa" (Sonu Nigam & Alka Yagnik) is the second love song but this one I've listen to more than the title track. Fifth track is a remix version of "Mitwa" but I like the original song better. Sixth track "Rock N Roll Soniye (Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Mahalaxmi Iyer) is the big celebration track. The tune is really catchy...after the third listen, I found myself enjoying it. The last track "Farewell Trance" is an instrumental number with hints of the title track and others blended in. I think this is a really enjoyable cd; however, folks may like it even more once they've seen the movie!
