This month Soulsupplement marks our 100th release and label boss Bruno Browning decided to ask a couple of his closest friends to join him on the special release. Titled simply 100 this three tracker features tracks from the Corduroy Mavericks, Spoon and Bruno, we hope you enjoy. Brunos Continuing Education gets us started and this one is symbolic because its a re-imagined version of History Lessons which appeared on Soulsupplements first 12 release Lessons. Browning always thought that the concept of that first track was exponentially better than his producer skills at the time so to bring it full circle he touched it up a bit. When you juxtapose this version with the original you can really see how far the label has grown. The Corduroy Mavericks contribution is the original mix of Praise and its truly a special track. We heard rumors of this one when Bruno first got back from hanging with the Mavericks and some unidentified trance guy from Nashville in Florida. Bruno would not stop taking about this track he had heard by the pool and now we see why...its one of the best tracks weve ever heard. It has all the hallmarks of a great Corduroy Maverick track: Its sexy, its soulful and it has just the right amount of slash. If you cant tell were fans of this one and just for the record were not proud of these guys hanging with that trance guy from Nashville. Taking us home is one of our favorite people on the planet as well as one of our favorite producers.Spoon. Out Of Time is in our opinion one of Spoons best tracks to date and thats really saying something because we sort of like them all. Straightforward four on the floor action with this one, no messing about just a serious floor burner. The intoxicating vocal will keep your head spinning, however its the bass line thats the star of the show. Spoon crushes this one and were proud to have him on this release.
