This project is the result of a repeated opportunity of creating songs at our church each Sunday. We wanted a recording that demonstrates what can happen when we are available to creativity in the moment without any specific planning via printed music. All twelve keys are represented, and as an element of chance, we flipped a coin to establish either a major or minor mode. Each piece was recorded without any fixes and appears here as it did in the moment. To us it became significant that there were 12 keys. We began to see connections with the number twelve: months, zodiac signs, stages of consciousness / healing, tribes of Israel, the 12 Step Program, etc. We decided to see if the musical personality of each piece represented a different stage of consciousness. What organically unfolded was a representation of the varying stages through the music. Thus, we named the pieces in alignment with each state of human evolution. The components of faith and trust, openness to inspiration, and compassionate non-judgement lend themselves to creativity. By choosing to let any unanticipated note or phrase make its statement, we often arrive in new territory. Thus, we begin to welcome the 'weird', and enjoy the gifts it brings! As we let go of the ego's judgement, there is a catapult into the land of limitless possibility. That's where we love to play...
