Melt - EP Introduction The EP starts out with "Gaze", the style reminiscent of songs from her last EP "Sorry I'm Latte", "Gaze" is a groovy track with a thick bassline that expresses how Jasmine feels about competing with others for the attention of a crush. "Microwave" featuring ohji and produced by Momo Ward is an upbeat, moving track where Jasmine is experimenting with funky rhythms and vocals. The lyrics are aimed at someone that Jasmine is trying to convince to relax and realize that not everything in life is a competition. "Blame Me" is a song that is raw and vulnerable, Jasmine speaks about trying to help someone get out of their bad habits, only to have them blame her for everything. Next is "Wednesday" produced by Ai Means Love., a song with infectious inflections atop wooden xylophone sounds and soloing trumpets. The song recounts the days of leaving a lover, starting out with Monday and ending with Wednesday, showing the difficulty of leaving someone. "Discolights" is a stripped down track which lyrics show Jasmine struggling with her lack of emotion. She sings "happy only when high, sad with the help of wine" to emphasize the difficulties she has with experiencing emotion.
