The music on this recording represents the songs I play on my harp in pediatric care units as part of my Harps-for-Hearts music program that provides live music in hospitals. These songs are my favorites from my own childhood. I would play them on guitar for my family at our frequent campfires. In the hospitals they bring smiles, familiarity and hopefully some comfort to children and families as they face the challenges before them. There are no words to express the power of music. When I bring my harp to the patient areas, sometimes I can just help them sleep. Sometimes they are energized and want to sing. No matter which way it goes, the sweet sound of brave and youthful voices singing along with the harp is without question the most beautiful music on earth. The sight of a parent holding vigil with their baby in prayer and love is a sight more transcendent that any I have seen. I hope this collection of simple but heartfelt melodies will bring the same pleasure, comfort and memories to you and yours.
