After meeting in 2014 upon member Allison Mareek's research for a new guitarist, Etienne Prieuret and her quickly fell for each other's songwriting and decided to bring their skills together as a band. They begun with a four months long North-American tour playing venues like "Rockwood Music Hall" (NYC), "TRANZAC Club" (Toronto, ON), "Caveau Des Oubliettes" (Paris, FR), "Pianos" (NYC) and more. CrossFire's music could be described as "Folk with just a twist of Pop" enough to bring that modern touch to their sound. With their two voices in harmony, two guitars and a lot more stringed instruments, this first EP will surprise by its absence of percussions or drums of any kind. The rythmic side is brought only by the acoustic guitars, creating the very special atmosphere, specific to the band's sound. Recently back from a month of touring on Reunion Island (Indian Ocean), they will be releasing their first EP on March 16th and hosting an EP release showcase with a fellow band in Paris, France, this spring. With Allison writing the lyrics, Etienne composing the music and both members singing and performing on the record, this first EP contains a harmonious blend of all their talents. Going back to a more traditional and "old-school" way of creating music, CrossFire's EP was almost entirely recorded live. It was very important to the band to keep and render as clearly as possible, the authenticity of what the listener will get, discovering the songs in live shows.
