As warm and radiant as the atmosphere in the south, Melody, who has Trinidadian roots, graced the North Miami hospital with her angelic voice when she exhaled her first earthly breath. After years of living in the Dirty South, she heading to the glitz and glamour of Manhattan, New York (ok, not really it was more like Brick City a.k.a., the Bronx) to fulfill her dreams of being a STAR. She got her first job as an unpaid intern for MTV/VH1. Taking a risk to fulfill her dream was costly for Melody during this time. She struggled financially and shuffled between the sometimes overcrowded homes or apartments of friends. When her internship didn’t materialize, she was both emotionally drained and devastated. Fortunately, her soul delivered on focus and fortitude, which is her core strength, and she decided quitting was not an option as her dream had not yet been fulfilled. After receiving continued support from friends and family, she finally returned to the South, setting up her musical deliverance by working with multiple production companies between the ATL (Atlanta, GA) and the “O” (Orlando, Fl). Finally, her musical spirit was matched after meeting one of the country’s top producers K-Boogie in Orlando.
