First up on their heavy loaded, party-starting I Dont Fake It EP is I Don't Fake It. With sultry female lyrics and a funk-inclined bassline at its core, it forces parallels with the sort of sophisticated house music emitted from France in the mid-to-late 00s. Which suffice to say, is no bad thing. I Dont Want to Love is slightly more ominous, with this one draped in cosmic, futuristic overtones and a positively overwhelming electro edge. The proverbial peak-time record, its not produced with DJs of the feint of heart in mind. The same too, can be said for the EPs closing gambit, Its a Girl Thing. Initially, its produced on a more consistent and stringent path via an ethereal, stripped back approach that showcases the pairs eclectic nature. Later on however, it soon unfurls into a different beast altogether and well let the listener figure out exactly why. Exciting, intriguing, smile inducing and at times, utterly shocking, there are multiple ways to describe Tough Loves latest.
