Biography Jimmy Young has the distinction of sharing the same stage with such greats as The Temptations, The O'Jays, The Stylistics, Ben E. King and Sam Moore to name a few. A Trinidadian by birth Jimmy Young grew up listening to the top Soul / R&B singers on the radio before moving to Baltimore Maryland with his family. In the 80's he was introduced to Atlantic and CBS producer and arranger Bob Gallo (Ben E. King, James Brown, Patti LaBelle, The Young Rascals, and The Nylons) to name a few, by his friend and mentor Ben E. King. For months Jimmy Young and Bob Gallo wrote and recorded songs and began shopping for a label. In 1988 Jimmy Young was signed by independent label "Freedom Records" and released "Love Sweet Love" and "Two Lovers" as singles, which was well received by commercial and college radio. In 1990 Freedom Records then released Jimmy Young's version of Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough Of Your Love" which was charted at #20 nationwide in Canada. Jimmy's busy schedule included several appearences on Much Music's "Electric Circus" and shows with The Temptations, The O'Jays and Ben E. King (Stand By Me). In 2001 Jimmy Young was signed by US independent label Lost Gold Records. Lost Gold released "HEARTBREAKER" an 18 track CD of original material written by Jimmy Young and Bob Gallo. Heartbreaker did so well that Falcon Records of Germany signed Jimmy Young to a promotion and distribution deal for Europe. In 2003 "More Than My Heart Could Stand" a track of the Heartbreaker CD was included on a compilation by DISCUSA with such greats as Al Green, Iggy Pop and The Blind Boys Of Alabama to name a few.
