Who will protect our children on the run? Who will protect them from the man with the gun? Our country's mass shooting heartaches keep repeating without end. Sandy Hook Elementary School is the latest in a long string of bitter tragedies. Here's a short list of what came before Newtown: Columbine, Aurora, Oikos, Northern Illinois, Virginia Tech, Bart Township Amish, Thurston High School, Westside Middle School, Lindhurst High School, University of Iowa, Cleveland Elementary Stockton Schoolyard... When will it stop? Gun law changes might help, but the problem goes much deeper. How do we change our culture of violence... not to mention helping the mentally ill who might not want any help? How can we stop the fascination with guns and reduce the demand? Will a "war on guns" have the same result as the war on drugs?
