Voter apathy is at an all-time high, while trust and political participation are very low, especially with young people. Politicians tell us what their polling tells them to say, not what’s in their hearts. (Do they even have hearts?) We hear the non-stop spin from talking heads with their own agendas. They all try to convince us to support whatever budget deals, taxes, legislation or war they are pushing. Just like sheep we begin to believe, and then the truth comes out. The politicians are exposed in another lie or broken promise. The boomers say that young people have no view, that they don't care, and that they don't participate in the national Identity; Yet the youth are the ones that go off to wars to protect our freedoms. They are the future of America. This song speaks to young people. "You see it another way," it says, "their game you are refusing to play." So you don't want to waste your time by voting? You're just playing into the hands of the politicians as your defiance breeds their power. Old white men end up making your marriage decisions, your birth control decisions; They decide what you can put into your body and what will be the next war you fight. You have no say because you did not vote. This song is about our country, our government, and our people. Get involved, stay informed and GO VOTE!
