And according to the National Archives, South Carolina has produced more of these treasures than anywhere else in the country. The rich folklore and history of this beautiful region has been passed along, orally, through plantation owners, Indians, former slaves, and others who have come to call the Grand Strand ‘home.’ Books have since taken the lead in bringing these stories to the masses, and now, ‘Ghosts and Legends’ returns some of the best tales back to the spoken word. Naturally, these old stories evolve over time, with each storyteller adding their own special touches.
