“Still Lions”, the second EP from Winds & Walls, is a collection of tracks that helped evolve the sound of the band. It was the first set of songs that the entire band contributed to completely, unlike the first EP, “Third Rail”, which was mainly written by Joey and Rosie. Lyrically, Rosie wrote a set of songs that were written completely about a single relationship. The title of the EP, “Still Lions”, represented the couple not moving toward an ending in a disastrous relationship. Musically, Joey ventured into other genres other than rock for inspiration, such as EDM and ambient sounds. Because the band is so young, a second EP was released as a way to portray the evolution of a band’s sound and inspirations. A great addition to the second EP was Andrew’s background vocals and bass. His inputs really helped bring out the vibe of the EP. As far as production, Rob Freeman, the producer also played the most important role in bringing the collective sound of the EP and helping the band bring out the vulnerability of the EP. This re-release edition has a new track entitled, "Smarter", that ventures into a different sound for the band as a little teaser for the full-length album to come. “Still Lions” is just another little taste of the band’s ever growing and changing sounds and is also opening the door for more music from the band.
