Nigel Good's triumphant "Nothing Out Here" artist album left an indelible mark on our community. Over a year after its release, we are excited to present a brand new remix of the album's intro track, "This Is Us," courtesy of French sensation Matt Fax. A track that truly encapsulates the unique style that has earned Nigel Good international acclaim, the Original Mix features a lush lead melody, floating atop a powerful progressive house groove. On remix detail, Matt Fax made a surprising (and rewarding) decision: he chose to make a deeper interpretation, rather than compete with the already buoyant and uplifting original version. At just 124 BPM, the percussion section is centered fully in house music, while a deep-diving bassline further sinks the groove into subterranean territory. After an extended introduction, a moody and hypnotic lead piano theme emerges, as well as a few sparkling variations on the original themes. The suspenseful groove continues to crescendo, culminating in a gorgeous orchestral climax: the piano theme is fully presented, along with a variety of string elements. Just when you feel that the song is ready to explode with intensity, the drop once again returns the soundscape to a chilled house vibe, playfully inviting the audience back for repeated listens.
