Combining the raw groove of James Brown with the melodic talents and jazz influence of hornmen Ronald Bell, Robert Mickens and Dennis Thomas, the band gives a solid workout to songs such as "Pneumonia," "Who's Gonna Take the Weight" and the Sly Stone hit "I Want to Take You Higher."
