The soundtrack is as banal and tedious as the film itself, manufacturing drama from overbaked arrangements and aggressive yet flimsy melodies. Part of the problem is the dated production -- the gelatinous synths and sludgy electronic rhythms are an unfortunate byproduct of their times -- but by no means does Conti deserve a free pass: themes like "Time's Up" and "Hold Your Fire" are as trite and predictable as their titles portend. It's a mystery why Intrada would choose to resurrect Lock Up as a special edition when so many superior soundtracks remain unissued in any format.
